SRINAGAR: Supreme Court lawyer Salar Mohammad Khan died after a serious cardiac arrest on Saturday. He was 52.

Khan, who hailed from Jaipur, had grown up in Delhi where he studied law. Initially, he spent many years in journalism and finally he joined the bar. He was a keen Kashmir watcher and would plead the cases of Kashmiris including journalists.

Family sources said he reported heartache and was driven to the hospital. But the attack was so severe that he collapsed in the hospital.

Khan was very active on the issue of Indian Muslims. He would often speak, write and talk on public forums.

Khan is survived by his wife, daughter and a son.
