Two Hundred Twenty Five (225) cases of aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by JKEDI under different schemes were approved during the Steering Committee meetings held at JKEDI, Jammu.
“The 94th Steering Committee Meeting of Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and 44th of Youth Start-Up Loan Scheme (YSLS) were held on March 10, 2016 under the Chairmanship of Nirmal Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, J&K Government at JKEDI, Jammu. Those who participated in the meeting were Manzoor Ahmad Lone, IAS, Director Employment; Dr M I Parray, Director JKEDI; Mohammad Ibrahim, Vice President (A&AP), J&K Bank Limited and sectoral experts from line departments,” a statement issued by EDI said Friday evening.
“Out of 154 cases placed before the Committee under SCFS, 120 cases involving the total project cost of Rs 1785.37 lacs were approved including Seed Money of Rs 414.67 lacs. 12 cases were rejected for different reasons while as the decision in respect of 20 cases was deferred as more clarifications were sought. These cases will be considered in the next Steering Committee meeting after the relevant issues are clarified,” the statement said.
Out of 114 cases placed before the same Committee under Youth Start-Up Loan Scheme, 105 cases were approved involving total project cost of Rs 745.45 lacs. “Decision in respect of 5 cases was deferred as more clarifications were sought. These cases will be considered in the next Steering Committee meeting after the relevant issues are clarified,” the statement added.
