SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns in various areas of Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days. These outages are being carried out to facilitate preventive maintenance, augmentation, and shifting of electrical infrastructure.
According to the Chief Engineer, KPDCL, power supply will remain affected on April 28 from 10 AM to 5 PM at several receiving stations and feeding areas. These include Keller, Kanipora, Shadimarg, Hotline Keller, Gatipora, Khathalan, Nadpora, Qasbayar, Abhama, and Sangerwani. Similarly, the IGC receiving station and areas such as IGC Aglar A, B, and New Fruit Mandi will also face power cuts during the same time.
On April 27, due to conductor laying work for the shifting of the 33KV Lassipora-Keegam line, the areas of Keegam, Hawal, Rajpora, Akhal, Gulshanabad, Mitrigam, Rohamoo, Murran, Chararipora, Pakherpora, and Kamrazipora will face a shutdown from 10 AM to 5 PM.
In addition, receiving stations in Pampore-I and Pampore-II will face outages on April 28 from 10 AM to 4 PM for line stabilisation and augmentation.
A shutdown is also planned for May 1, from 10 AM to 5 PM, affecting Arhama, Pinjoora, Chowdrigund and areas such as Pahnoo, Trenz, Imamsahab, Kiloora, Shirmal, Zawoora, Vehil, Kachdora, Nowgam, Reshnagri, and Bemnipora.
On April 26, for shifting works related to the Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri Bypass, power supply will remain affected from 10 AM to 4 PM at receiving stations Singhpora, Mirgund, Kalsari, and Shadipora. The Hamray receiving station will also face an outage on April 29 during the same hours.
Work on the 11KV Rohama feeder will lead to power cuts on April 26 from 10 AM to 4 PM at Rohama, Chakloo, MID Irrigation, Seer, and nearby areas.
In the Jammu region, the Chief Engineer, JPDCL, has notified that the power supply to Ransoo, Shivkhori, Bharakh Back, Daqdua, Laiter, and surrounding areas will remain affected on April 26 from 9 AM to 2 PM. On April 27, Katra, Chintamani, Simsam Hotel, American Hotel, Jammu Road, Kun, Agharjitto, Arnas, Dharmari, Mahore, Sarbaga, Gulabgarh, Chassana, Pabasa, and adjoining localities will face outages from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Ratnuchak, MES, and industrial areas will see power shutdowns on the same day from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Meanwhile, the Superintending Engineer, JPDCL O&M Circle Kathua, stated that areas including Sawanchack, Shastri Nagar, Kalibari, Shiva Nagar, Patel Nagar, Police Line, and nearby areas will face power cuts on April 27 from 7 AM to 12 noon.
The Superintending Engineer, O&M Circle-III, Batote, added that the Housing Colony and Generation Colony will see outages on April 26, 28, and May 5 from 8 AM to 12 noon. Similarly, power supply to Sangaldan, Banihal, Hinjal, Khari, Nachlana, and adjoining areas will remain affected on April 26, 28, 30, and May 2 from 9 AM to 2 PM.
