Government had selected rented accommodation comprising 35 rooms at Parimpora for a school for visually impaired children, this was stated in am meeting convened by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ah Khan Monday to review the progress with regard to the establishment of co-educational residential school for visually impaired children in Srinagar

According to spokesman, Divisional Commisioner constituted a Committee comprising Director Social Welfare, Deputy Director Estates and Engineers to inspect the Parimpora rented building and asked them to furnish a complete report within seven days regarding infrastructure, hostel arrangements and other facilities so that classes in the said school will be started in the month of March 2017.

Div Com also directed the Education Department to provide teaching staff for the school having good experience to teach visually impaired students.

He also directed revenue officials to identify the land for construction of school for visually impaired in Srinagar city and directed them to submit the detailed report within one month.
