Schools reopen in Kashmir valley after summer break

Schools in Kashmir valley reopened after 10 days summer break on Monday.

Government had announced an early summer break to avoid trouble during the week-long protests following the first death anniversary of slain militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8.

The summer vacations for schools and colleges started from July 6.

The Jammu and Kashmir government had on Friday dismissed rumours of summer vacations being extended and said schools will open as scheduled.

News stories from last year were being circulated on social media about holidays being extended, forcing the government to issue a clarification.
