SRINAGAR: A scooty rider was killed after being hit by a tipper near Government Degree College Bemina in Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
An official said that a TVS Ntorq scooty bearing registration number JK01AW-9883 was involved in an accident with a tipper near Government Degree College, Bemina.
The scooty rider sustained fatal injuries and was found lying on the roadside when a team from Police Station Batamaloo reached the spot and took cognisance of the incident.
The identity of the deceased is being ascertained, while the tipper driver fled from the scene, the official added.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and further investigation is underway. (GNS)
