The Shopian-Pulwama Journalists Guild Wednesday condemned the “brutal attack” on photojournalists who were performing their duties during an encounter in Wandakhpora in Awantipora area of Pulwama in South Kashmir.
Lashing out at the “inhuman action” by CRPF, the president of the association, Ayub Javid, and Secretary General, Fayaz Wani, impressed upon the Inspector General of CRPF to initiate an enquiry and to take necessary action against those found guilty.
“The journalists have always put their lives at risk to report from ground zero and have always reported for the welfare of the common masses but such actions by forces always hamper and act as a hurdle to perform the duties for journalists,” they said in a statement.
