SRINAGAR: The search operation to trace and recover the body of a 14-year-old boy who drowned in the Pohru River at Wadoora in Sopore entered its third consecutive day on Tuesday, officials said.
The boy, identified as Furqan Rafiq Hajam, a resident of Wadoora, Sopore, drowned in the river on August 2 while bathing, according to the SDRF.
Teams from the SDRF Component Baramulla and Sub-Component Sopore have been continuing the search and retrieval operation in the river and surrounding areas, with efforts underway to locate the missing boy.
The operation continued on August 3, with rescuers engaged in efforts to trace the teenager and recover his body.
Furqan went missing after he drowned in the Pohru River while bathing on Sunday, prompting the launch of the search operation by rescue teams.
The SDRF said the search operation was continuing.
