SRINAGAR: A search operation to trace and retrieve the body of a nine-year-old boy who reportedly drowned in Madhumati Nalla in Bandipora entered its third consecutive day on Saturday, with teams continuing efforts at the site.
The boy has been identified as Moomin Ahmad, a resident of Ganie Mohalla in Kuloosa, Bandipora. He reportedly drowned in the waterway near the District Police Lines (DPL), Bandipora, on Thursday.
Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Bandipora, and Battalion Headquarters, Srinagar, have been involved in the search operation since the incident.
The teams continued combing the waterway and surrounding areas on Saturday in an effort to locate and recover the boy, who remains untraced.
The search operation was continuing at the time of filing this report.
