Section 144, under CRPC has been imposed in the Kathua and Doda regions in view of the sectarian clashes in Kishtwar in which three persons were killed.
As per a statement, the deputy commissioner Kathua, Jitendra K Singh has appealed the people to maintain peace and tranquility. And to avoid any untoward incident, District Magistrate (DM) Kathua has imposed resection under 144 Cr PC.
Under these orders prohibition has been imposed on protest, demonstration and procession and gathering of five or more persons.
However, this order shall not apply to the uniform personnel performing law and order duties, to the employees of Department of essential services departments like electricity, PHE, health etc and also on funeral processions and the children/staff participating in rehearsals of I-Day, 2013.
Meanwhile District Magistrate (DM) Doda, Mubarak Singh Sunday issued order in exercise of the power vested in him under section 144 Cr PC and imposed prohibition orders in the towns and areas falling in the jurisdiction of district Doda.
