Tehreek-e-Hurriyat secretary general Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai on Thursday lashed out at the critiques of Pakistan and said “why should we question the nation that came in to existence for the betterment of Muslims as a nation”. He said the “existence of Kashmir is eternal with the existence if Pakistan”.
Addressing the “Iqbal Day seminar” at Tehreek-e-Hurriyat headquarters at Hyderpora, the residence-cum-office of its chairperson and Hurriyat patriarch, Syed Ali Geelani, Sehrai asserted, “the two nation theory is a reality and nobody should question it.”
“Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had envisaged the existence of Pakistan that turned into a reality after strenous efforts of one of the tallest leaders of the world,” he said explaining how this state is yet to “completely come up to expectations of its founders”.
He said the state of those who ditched Qaid in 1947 are suffering to this date.
“The muslims of India ditched the Qaid and termed the ‘Idea of Pakistan’ as vague. Today, when the muslims of India are being subjected to proving their loyality to their country, Qaid’s visionary leadership as ever is proving right,” he added.
Tipped as successor of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani, Sehrai said that a year ago, a guest arrived at his Baghat residence and identified himself as one from RSS headquarters Nagpur.
“When I questioned purpose of his visit, he told me that his party wants to make Kashmir a part of Hindu Rahtra,” Sherai said adding, “I responded: that our existence is integral to J&K was never nor is any part of India. Your idea of Hindu Rashtra must be beyond Pathankote.”
The RSS man did not accept to take tea but when he left, Sehrai said, “he said: you will get something.
Meanwhile, reports said that the Jammu and kashmir Liberation Front or JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik is also present in the Seminar.
Earlier in the day the media was not allowed to attend the seminar that is scheduled to be addressed by senior resistance leader Sued Ali Geelani.
