Police took Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, from his residence where he was put under house arrest, to some unknown destination. The family sources told Kashmir Life.
Police had cordoned the residence of Sehrai on February 9, after Afzal Guru was hanged in Tihar jail in Delhi. They added.
“Many police personnel on Sunday at 2:30 pm came inside the house and took Sehrai Sahab with them,” the family sources said. Kashmir Life tried the phone of Sehrai’s residence repeatedly but nobody responded the calls.
The family sources of Sehrai said that after passing many hours he has not been brought back to his residence which is a clear indication that he has been detained in some police station, jail or interrogation centre. Sehrai is suffering from so many ailments including serious orthopedic problems. They added.
Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, a close aide of Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, is the general secretary of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat. After Geelani went to Delhi keeping in view the cold condition of the valley, Sehrai is acting as the chairman of the party.
