Former chief minister and National Conference patron, Farooq Abdullah, Wednesday had to face severe pro-freedom and anti-government slogans when he tried to visit the family of Zahid Rasool Bhat, who succumbed to injuries after burnt by Hindu mob in Jammu’s Udhampur district earlier this month.
Sources said that men and women blocked the lane leading to Zahid’s house and staged a protest.
“He (Abdullah) is here to play politics over the whole episode. Weren’t during their regime as well people of valley harassed by the Hindu goons of Jammu?” a local asked.
However, later some seniors of the locality intervened and pacified the protestors after which they let in Abdullah to Zahid’s house.
