The Government has constituted a separate Board under Jammu and Kashmir Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Act, 2008, in view of the growing popularity of Shiv Khori Shrine and increasing need for proper management, facilities.

According to an official statement, this was stated by the Minister for Agriculture while replying on behalf of Minister for Tourism to a calling attention notice by Jugal Kishore in the Legislative Council on Tuesday.

“The Minister said that the Board may do all such things as may be incidental and conducive to the efficient management, maintenance and administration of the Shrine and the convenience of the pilgrims. He said the Pithoo Walas, Pony Wallas and Palky Wallas, are charged duly notified rates as per decision of the Board. The proceeds/funds generated are used for development of Shrine and its surroundings,” the statement said.

The Minister said that the rates of Pithoo wala’s, Poney Walla’s   Palky Walla’s and Guides etc operating on Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKB) track have been revised with effect from 1stJuly, 2012, it added.
