Separatist leaders have condemned the assault on a Pakistani prisoner at Kot Balwal Jail of Jammu.

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani while condemning the attack on the Pakistani prisoners has said that such attacks are totally unacceptable

“Those Pakistani prisoners who have completed their term in the Indian jails should be sent back to Pakistan as they are not safe in the Indian jails,” Geelani said.

While terming the attack on the Pakistani prisoner as reactionary measure, Geelani said that the incident should be thoroughly investigated.

“Kashmiri prisoners who are captive in various jails of India are not safe in Indian jails as they are being harassed on one pretext or other. They should be brought back to Kashmiri prisons, he added.

“Kashmiri prisoners should be brought back to the prisons of the valley as they are not safe in the jails of Jammu,” Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq told KNS.

Senior Hurriyat (M) leader Shabir Ahmad Shah and other separatist leaders have also condemned the incident.
