‘Mutahida Majlis-e-Mashawrat’ (MMM), a joint body of all the separatist groups and parties have issued a fresh protest calendar to press for the demand of the return of the mortal remains of Afzal Guru, the parliament attack victim, who was secretly hanged and later buried in Tihar jail Delhi, on February 9.

A meeting of the ‘MMM’ was held at an undisclosed place in which the representatives of Hurriyat (G), Hurriyat (M),Jamaat-e-Islami, Liberation Front, Bar Association and Dukhtaran-e-Millat.

A statement of the ‘MMM’ said that it was unanimously decided that the agitation to seek the mortal remains of Afzal Guru will continue till the GOI returns the body of Guru so that he is buried in the Mazar-e-Shuhada at Eidgah Srinagar.

Kashmir high court bar association will organize and hold protests from 2 pm to 4 pm and raise the slogans in favour of freedom and the return of the mortal remains of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat.

Thursday, February 28

In the south district headquarters of Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama, people have been appealed to hold protest demonstrations favouring the return of the mortal remains of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat. The people have been told to raise slogans in favour of freedom.

Friday, March 1

Full day complete  shutdown. People have been appealed to follow the already publicized programe of JKLF and hold protest demonstrations after Nimaz. The Imam’s of the mosques have been appealed to educate people about the present situation and raise their voice against the hanging of Afzal Guru.

Saturday, March 2

The people have been appealed to tie red ribbon on their vehicles, houses and shops symbolizing the blood of ‘Kashmiri martyrs’.

Sunday, March 3

The people have been appealed to keep their shops and business establishments open on Sunday.
