SRINAGAR: At least seven individuals sustained injuries in a road accident in the Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials reported.
According to news agency KS, the incident occurred on the new NHW near Arwani Bijbehara crossing, involving an Alto and a Sumo vehicle. The collision resulted in injuries to seven people.
The injured have been identified as Rukhsana, 14-year-old daughter of Showkat Ahmad Tunch, a resident of Gosoo Kupwara, who sustained critical injuries; Iram Jan, 8-year-old daughter of Showkat Ahmad Sheikh; Fatima, daughter of Mohd Aswar; Momina, daughter of Javaid Ahmad, 9 years old; Sanobar, daughter of Fayaz Ahmad Shafiq; Rafat, 6 years old; daughter of Shabir Ahmad. All residents of Gosoo Kupwara, the injured were transported to SDH Bijbehara.
Rukhsana, with serious injuries, has been referred to GMC Anantnag for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KS)
