Seven militants were killed and two army men injured in an ongoing gunfight with the government forces in Dragad village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.

Police sources said that seven militants killed so far and weapons recovered operation.

Reports said that the militants have taken shelter in the house of an IPS officer posted outside Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid on Sunday said that seven militants, including top commanders, were killed in a gunfight with forces in Dragad village of Shopian in south Kashmir.

In a tweet, Vaid said that seven bodies of militants have been recovered. He said the slain included top commanders.

He said a militant was also killed in Dialgam gunfight while one was caught alive.

The exchange of fire was on at the time of filing of this report.
