SRINAGAR: Several people were killed in an explosion in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Monday, according to several media reports.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qani told Reuters that preliminary information indicated multiple fatalities and injuries, adding that further details would be shared later.
Shahr-e-Naw, which hosts foreign residents and diplomatic facilities, is regarded as one of the most secure neighbourhoods in the Afghan capital.
Meanwhile, Kabul-based Tolo News reported that several civilians lost their lives in the blast that struck the area.
