During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi gifted the UAE President a Royal Carved Wooden Jhula (swing) from Gujarat. Intricately hand-carved with floral and traditional motifs, the wooden jhula occupies a special place in many Gujarati households. It symbolises togetherness, dialogue and bonding across generations, and also resonates with the UAE’s declaration of 2026 as the Year of Family.

Adding a distinct Kashmiri touch, the Prime Minister presented a Pashmina shawl from Kashmir, placed in an ornate silver box crafted in Telangana. Handwoven from exceptionally fine wool, the Pashmina is known for its softness, warmth and lightness. Together, the shawl and the silver box showcased India’s rich legacy of handloom and handicrafts.

A Pashmina shawl in an ornate silver box was also gifted to HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi. In addition, she was presented with Kashmiri saffron, elegantly packed in a decorative silver box. Grown in the Kashmir Valley, the prized saffron is renowned for its deep crimson strands, rich aroma and premium quality. (KINS)
