Soon after his arrival from Srinagar for a scheduled meeting with Pakistan NSA Sartaj Aziz, separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah was detained at Delhi airport on Saturday.
Reports said Shah was taken into custody because “Delhi does not want Hurriyat leaders to interact with NSA Aziz”.
Shah’s detention at a time when JKLF and Hurriyat leaders are set to leave for Delhi.
Shah earlier told reporters at the Srinagar airport that Narendra Modi government would detain Hurriyat leaders “just to show its hard line on Kashmir ahead of the upcoming Bihar polls”.
