The family of the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah Monday visited the residence of pellet hit Insha Mushtaq to adopt her.

Shah last week announced to adopt Insha who has lost her eyesight after her both eyes were damaged by pellets.

In a statement issued here Shah said, “From now on she is my third daughter.”

“The family of Shabir Ahmad Shah went to Sedu, Shopian and adopted Insha. The family which comprised of Shah’s wife, daughters, elder brother, sister, and others was led by DFP secretary general Moulana Abdullah Tari.”

On the occasion, Moulana Tari announced before the family and relatives of Insha that she is Shabir Ahmad Shah’s third daughter and that all her responsibilities will be fulfilled.

Extending Shabir Ahmad Shah’s message to the family, Tari said, “Shah Sahib has adopted Insha and will take care of her till his last breath. Daughter Insha needs not to worry about anything.”

Introducing both families with each other, Moulana said Islam stresses on maintaining mutual brotherhood, love, and affection besides taking care of each other.

He said during the ongoing Intifada, thousands were injured with eyesight of hundreds snatched. He said need of the hour is to exhibit utmost magnanimity and help each other.

“We’re resisting the Indian illegal occupation and the whole nation has rendered sacrifices. During the ongoing anti-India uprising, thousands of people got maimed due to pellets, hundreds lost their eyesight, and dozens completely blinded. We have to explore options for these victims so that they resume their normal life. We should take a lead in this regard so that the pellet victims don’t need to knock the doors of the anti-people government,” Moulana while quoting Shabir Ahmad Shah said.

“Shah Sahib reiterated his pledge that he will continue to endeavour to create awareness regarding the rehabilitation of such victims. He said need is to take thorough initiatives in this regard. Such victims shouldn’t feel alone or dejected as the whole nation is with them,” Moulana quoted Shah as having said.
