Reacting to the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s comment that teachings of Shah-e-Hamdan, Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) are the “soul of Kashmiriyat,” Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Syed Asiya Andarabi said that Shahi Hamdan (RA) preached Islam, not Kashmiriyat

“Mir Syed Ali Hamdani RA came to Kashmir with a great message and the light of Tawheed and Islam. So to term this magnificent message of Islam as Kashmiriyat is a blasphemy,” a DeM spokesperson said in a statement while responding to Mehbooba Mufti’s speech delivered recently at SKICC.

The spokesman also said that PDP Minister, Naeem Akhtar, for his comments regarding the philosophy of Islamic concept of life and death. “He compared this great Islamic concept to ‘discount and passport’. This is how they are making a mockery of Islamic philosophy and its concepts,” she said.

She said that these people should refrain from saying the names of Prophets, saints and great men of Islam. “Your words are as filthy as your actions, so refrain from saying any name of the great Islamic personalities,” she added.

The spokesperson while expressing grave concern over the ill-treatment meted out to the party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi and other party leaders inside the Srinagar Central jail, however, said that such behaviour from the government cannot deter the DeM leadership and its cadres from pursuing the pious cause of freedom.

“Such tactics won’t change us. We will continue our fight until we are given our rights to decide our future in accordance with the two-nation theory,” the spokesman said.
