SRINAGAR: Shai Hope’s century powered the West Indies to a six-wicket victory over India in the second T20 International at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Friday, as the visitors chased down a target of 250 to level the five-match series at 1–1.
West Indies reached 252/4 in 18.3 overs in reply to India’s 249/5 in 20 overs, completing their highest successful run chase in T20 International cricket with nine balls to spare.
The visitors recovered from an early collapse to 5/2 before mounting a remarkable comeback to overhaul India’s total.
The victory was West Indies’ 11th in T20 Internationals against India and brought the series back on level terms after the hosts had taken a 1–0 lead.
With the series now tied at 1–1, the result sets up a competitive contest in the remaining three matches.
