To commemorate the fifth death anniversary of Asiya and Neelofar of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, the victim family Tuesday appealed people and Hurriyat leaders to join their protest which according to family would be staged on May 29 at the same place where from the two women were allegedly abducted and then ‘raped and murdered’.
The brother of Asiya and the husband of Neelofar, Shakeel Ahmed Ahangar told CNS that they are going to stage a protest on May 29 and the next day on May 30, a seminar would be held in which Hurriyat leaders participation have been sought.
“The family members will gather at the place of ‘abduction’ and will stage a silent peaceful sit-in there. We appeal people to join our protest,” Shakeel said.
He further added that on May 30 a seminar and a protest would be staged against the ‘abduction, rape and murder of Asiya and Neelofar at the hands of security forces.’
