ArrestPolice from South Kashmir’s Islamabad district claimed to solve the case of grenade attack on police post Sher Bagh and arrested 4 persons involved in the attack on Tuesday.

According to district police authorities, on Monday, a grenade was lobbed on police post Sher Bagh Islamabad. A case FIR No. 160/2013 was registered at police station Islamabad and the investigation was started.

Police said, during the investigation, a suspect, Irshad Ahamd Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Sheerpora Islamabad was detained. “On questioning, he revealed that one Mukhtar Ahmad Dar son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar resident of Dangerpora Islamabad lobbed the grenade on police post Sher Bagh on the directions of Hizbul Mujahidin militant Mubarak Ahmad Wani alias Major Saqib and Fayaz Talak who is presently in central jail,” the police spokesman informed.

The spokesman said that the entire plan of the attack on police post Sherbagh was made at Talak Bakery in which two of their associates Muzaffer Ahmad Itoo son of Abdul Ahad Itoo resident of Muran Pulwama and Amir Syed Salathi son of Mohammad Syed resident of Iqbalabad K.P Road Islamabad were also present.

“Islamabad police arrested Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, Muzaffer Ahmad Itoo and Amir Syed Salathi, thereby solving the case, however, two more members of this HM module are evading arrest. The efforts are on to apprehend them,” spokesman said.
