District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian G M Dar Wednesday distributed orders of engagement among district block coordinators and Preraks engaged under Scheme Shakshra Bharat Mission (Total Literacy Mission).
Lawmakers Adv Mohd Yousuf Bhat and Adv Aijaz Ahmad Mir were present on the occasion.
The appointment of the new candidates was withheld due to a prolonged court case.
Principal DIET Shopian, who was present at the occasion, in his opening remarks highlighted the importance of adult literacy and role of coordinators/preraks to implement effectively SBM scheme.
While speaking on the occasion, MLA Watchi Ajaz Mir highlighted the importance of education in one’s life.

Dar stressed on the fact that very little is left for successful implementation of the scheme and said, “after prolonged court dispute, the selection has now been finalized. He asked the new appointees to work upon with more dedication.
