The Shopian-Pulwama Journalist Guild has condemned the alleged misbehavior of Station House Officer Pulwama with some members of the guild. They have sought the cooperation and intervention of the valley based journalists in the issue.
According to reports, during protests in Pulwama on June 6, some reporters were recording the event, the SHO allegedly stopped them from recording the scene. The concerned officer also used rude language for the reporters, the guild said.
“The reporters said that they were covering the scene when a mobile bunker of police turned turtle in the main Chowk of Pulwama and in the mean time the SHO present there stopped him from their job. They also said that he used rude language with the reporters,” a statement of the guild read.
The guild has condemned the act on part of the concerned officer and has also sought the intervention of valley based journalists, higher ups.
