A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday against the killing of a civilian in Pinjoora village.

All the shops and other commercial establishments are closed in the district and public transport is off the roads.

Earlier, a civilian was killed and scores were injured during clashes after government forces launched a cordon and search operation in the village.

Earlier, Hurriyat (g) chairman Syed Ali Geelani had also called for a shutdown in the district today (May 30) to mark the 10th death anniversary of Asiya and Neelofar.
