Shopkeeper shot at in Awantipora, hospitalised

A shopkeeper was injured critically after shot at by unknown gunmen at Nowpora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday evening.

Reports said that unknown persons fired upon the shopkeeper namely Naseer Ahmad Ganaie son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie a resident of Nowpora Awantipora.

An official said that he has received 2-3 bullets on his legs and arm and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors referred him to Srinagar hospital for treatment.

Soon after the incident a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants.
