Assuring students that government would ensure quickest trial of Kathua rape accused and harshest punishment to convicts, Minister for Education and Finance Syed Altaf Bukhari Saturday said that if the students continue to protest, it will be forced to close all educational institutions across the valley which will hit the academics profoundly.

Speaking to reporters at his Gogjibagh office, here in Srinagar, Education minister Altaf Bhukhari, advised the students not to waste their time as the case is already sub-judice and the government has done its job with regard to the case.

“In case students continue to protest over the issue, the government will be compelled to close all educational institutions across the valley and for that students will be responsible’, Bukhari said.

He also requested the parents to convince their wards against protests and not to waste their precious time as the trials in the gruesome rape and murder case are already going on and the accused are behind bars.
