SRINAGAR: Senior IAS officer Shreya Singhal today assumed charge as Director Information, Jammu and Kashmir.
Soon after taking charge, she held an introductory meeting with senior officers and officials of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), reviewing the functioning and key responsibilities of the department.
In her address, the Director underscored the need for transparent, timely, and people-centric dissemination of information. She described the Information Department as a crucial link between the government and the public, highlighting its role in creating awareness about developmental initiatives and welfare schemes.
Singhal reiterated her focus on strengthening communication systems through modernization, including greater use of digital platforms, improved media coordination, and enhanced engagement with stakeholders.
Senior officials present on the occasion included Joint Director Information (Headquarters) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director Information Jammu Deepak Dubey, Deputy Director Information (PR and AV) Javid Ahmad Rather, along with other officers and staff of DIPR.
