A number of Kashmiri scholars and activists on Sunday observed a Shujaat Day at Conference Hall Polo view Srinagar. The event was organized by Adbi Markaz Kamraz J&K in collaboration with states Information Department.
On the first death anniversary of the slain journalist a galaxy of scholars, poets and intellectuals shed light upon the life and achievements of the editor. Senior Journalist Muhammad Sayed Malik delivered a special Lecture during the event and discussed the slain journalist’s professional and valour of speaking truth.
Convenor Sahitya Academy Kashmir Advisory Board Aziz Hajini during his inaugural speech said that Shujaat was a man of emotions who kept the tradition of speaking truth to the power when people were using words with care.
Stating that Shujaat nourished literary Journalism in the valley, the speakers said that he has contributed a lot to journalism and people associated with profession should explore his contribution in a proper way.
