Shutdown in Budgam village on the anniversary of 4 youth killed in forces firing last year

Aripanthan village of Beerwah sub-division of Budgam district shut on Wednesday to mourn the deaths of four youth in firing by forces on this day last year.

Muhammad Ashraf Wani, a businessman; Manzoor Ahmad Lone, a farmer; Javid Ahmad Najar, a carpenter and Javid Ahmad Sheikh, a hairdresser were shot dead by forces on August 16 when a mass uprising was going on in Kashmir following the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8.

All shops and business establishments are closed while public transport is off the roads in the area.
