SRINAGAR: Life remained paralyzed across Kashmir following the strike call given by joint trade associations’ against the government ban on Jamaat-e-Islami outfit for five years.

All the shops and other business establishments’ are closed cross valley and traffic is off the roads. The strike call was jointly given by the KEA, KTMF, Federation Chamber Industries Kashmir (FCIK), All Transport Welfare Association on Monday.

Pertinently, days after the ban on the Jama’at outfit, besides sealing its offices and institutions, dozens of its leaders and activists were arrested from different parts of the valley. So far, many politicians and religious clerks have denounced the centre’s move towards the outfit.
