A complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama and Shopian districts of south Kashmir on Wednesday to mourn the death of six militants killed in Shopian and Budgam district of Kashmir.
Eyewitnesses said that all the shops and other business establishments are closed in both the districts and traffic is off the roads. People from various areas are visiting the residence of the slain militants to offer the condolences.
On January, 22, three militants Shamsul-Haq, a resident Draggad, Amir Suhail Bhat, a resident of Shopian, Shoiab, a resident of Sherimal Shopian, were killed during an encounter with mixed contingents of forces in Heff village of Shopian.
Earlier, three militants identified as Syed Rubaan, a resident of Shopian, Sabzar Ahmed, a resident of Lassiora Pulwama, Towseef Ahmed Itoo, from Nowpora Payeen Pulwama were killed during a gunfight with government forces in Haptnar village of Charar-e-Sharief area of Budgam district, on January, 21, 01 2019. The trio was affiliated with Al-Badr outfit.
Local sources said that the funeral prayers for the slain militants would be offered today, however, there was no immediate confirmation of the timings’.
