SRINAGAR

The south Kashmir town of Tral is observing shutdown on Tuesday, resulting in the disturbance in the day today business of the Town.

The shopkeepers have downed their shutters while traffic is off the roads ahead of the scheduled visit of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Meanwhile strong protests erupted along the Srinagar-Mzaffarabad highway near Bemina on city outskirts. Irked by the unusual power cuts, the protesters were raising slogans against the Power Development Department PDD.

The protesters blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway, leading the massive traffic jams.

The residents of Aali Kadal, Srinagar, also protested by observing shutdown against the alleged excesses by forces last night.

The protesters allege that the forces beat them up without any reason a day before.
