During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Operation Sindoor marked one of India’s boldest military responses in recent history. He emphasised that the blend of strategic restraint with assertive action has drawn a “new red line” against terrorism.

“If there is a terrorist attack on India in the future, it will be seen as an act of war and a fitting reply will be given. India has also made it clear that it will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail and it will strike precisely and decisively at terrorist hideouts,” Sinha told the delegates.

Speaking about the development of border areas in Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor said the Prime Minister’s vision had changed the perspective of treating forward villages as the “first village” rather than the “last village.” This, he said, underlined their significance as the nation’s first line of defence and placed priority on their comprehensive development.

“We adopted a strategic approach to balance economic growth, security and socio-cultural integration while developing border areas in Jammu and Kashmir. We built robust connectivity to facilitate trade and tourism. Many areas deprived of electricity since 1947 were connected with grid power and internet, which significantly improved the quality of life,” he said.

Sinha added that India’s ancient motto, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family, would continue to guide the path of universal brotherhood and global unity.
