With constant increase in private and public transport on the valley roads, situation remained peaceful and under control across the valley, police said in its routine situation statement.

“During the day no untoward incident was reported from any part of the valley,” the statement said. “Shops and other business establishments were seen open in most parts of the valley.”

Private and a good number of public transport  vehicles  were seen plying on the city roads as also in other main towns. Vendors in large numbers were doing their routine business across the valley.

Meanwhile, necessary security arrangements were put in place on some vulnerable points to prevent an untoward incident of disrupting normal life and flow of traffic.

Meanwhile, police said nine residential houses and a shop, were damaged in three different fire incidents in Baramulla, Anantnag and Handwara.In Baramulla,

In Baramulla, fire broke out at Hyder Mohalla Khawajabagh in District Baramulla in which eight residential house were partially damaged. Fire was brought under control by fire tender with the assistance of police and locals.

In Anantnag, fire broke out in the shop of Abdul Majeed Lone son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Kadipora Anantnag at General Bus Stand, resulting in partial damage to the shop. Fire tenders with the assistance of police and locals brought fire under control.

In Handwara, fire broke out in the residential house of Abli Wani son of Khazir Mohammad Wani resident of Lankreshan Vilgam, resulting in complete damage to the house. Fire was brought under control by fire tender with the assistance of police and locals.
