SRINAGAR: Authorities in Jammu Kashmir’s Rajouri have suspended six Aadhaar operators for their alleged involvement in forging Date of Birth (DOB) details during Aadhaar updates and creation.
An official order issued by the District Statistics and Evaluation Officer (Nodal Officer for Aadhaar-Rajouri), Sandeep Kumar Sharma, following a review meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri on March 24, reads that the suspension was based on serious violations of established guidelines and legal provisions.
“The suspended Aadhaar operators include Awais Ahmed (Haq Darhal Thanamandi), Mohd Altaf (Govt High School Chingus), Amrit Anjum (ICDS Darhal H/Q Thanamandi), Karan Kumar (Child Development Project Office Kalakote), and Abdul Razaq (CDPO Kalakote). Another operator, Wazar Hussain from Teryath, has also been suspended,” it reads.
The order directed the immediate cessation of Aadhaar-related activities by these operators and the initiation of legal and departmental action. It also called for preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
Tehsildars concerned have been instructed to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit reports within two days.
