SRINAGAR: At least six people were injured after three vehicles collided on the Srinagar–Baramulla National Highway at Zangam in the Pattan area of Baramulla district on Wednesday, causing temporary disruption to traffic on the busy highway.
Quoting officials news agency KNT reported that the accident involved a dumper, a Scorpio SUV and an Alto 800. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving all three vehicles extensively damaged.
Police personnel, assisted by local residents, rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The identities of the injured and the extent of their injuries were not immediately known.
The damaged vehicles were later removed from the highway, following which traffic movement was restored.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
