SRINAGAR: At least Six sheep were killed after a leopard entered a livestock enclosure at Barnate in Boniyar during the night, triggering concern among local residents.
According to reports, the leopard entered the enclosure and attacked the livestock, killing six sheep.
Following the incident, officials from the Wildlife Department visited the site and assessed the situation.
Residents have expressed concern over the leopard’s presence, particularly as a school with more than 300 students and a residential area are located only a few metres from the attack site.
“We are worried about the safety of our children and families,” residents said, urging the Wildlife Department to take immediate measures to capture and cage the leopard to prevent any further untoward incident.
