SRINAGAR: Following directives from the Secretary of Health and Medical Education, SKIMS (Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences) has embarked on the implementation of a QR Code system at its payment counters, aimed at expediting payment processes throughout the hospital.

The initiative, set forth by the Secretary, seeks to streamline payment procedures across all healthcare facilities, ensuring swift transactions for patients. Currently, SKIMS offers QR Code-enabled online payments at one counter within its OPD (Outpatient Department) service area, with additional scan-and-share capabilities in place.

Medical Superintendent at SKIMS, revealed that collaboration with stakeholders is underway to extend the QR Code facility to every counter within the hospital premises. The move is anticipated to significantly improve patient care services by reducing payment-related delays.

Furthermore, SKIMS has already implemented POS (Point of Sale) machines across all cash counters in the OPD and pharmacy sections, enhancing payment options for patients and visitors alike.

The introduction of the QR Code system aligns with SKIMS’ commitment to modernize its payment infrastructure and optimize operational efficiency in the delivery of healthcare services.
