The funeral prayers of slain militants saw a participation of thousands of people on Tuesday at their native places in Arwani and Kokernag areas of Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir.
Reports said that thousands of men, women and children took part in the last rites of Showket Lohar in Arwani and Muzaffar Hajam in Danvethpora Kokernag. The mourners were raising pro-freedom slogans.
The two were killed after army and police ambushed their car in Watergam near Bulbul Nowgam in Islamabad district late last night along with Naseer Ahmad of Pehru village.
While police said that Ahmad was a militant and claimed the recovery of a pistol from his possession, his family has denied the claim.
They said that he was returning from to Pehru from Hakoora Badasgam where his grandfather had passed away, reports said.
