Amid strong pro-freedom slogans, militants gave 21 gun salute to slain Naseer Pandit in South Kashmir on Thursday.

Reports said that as soon as body of slain Hizb Ul Mujahideen militant, Naseer Ahmad Pandit, reached his home in Pulwama’s Karimabad, unidentified militants opened fire in air “in honour of Pandit”.

“It was all chaos as people ran helter-skelter,” witnesses said, “in the melee, a concrete wall of a local residence collapsed which triggered chaos, however, there was no injury.”

Naseer Pandit along with another Hizb militant Waseem Malla of Pehlipora, Shopian died in a brief encounter with forces early today, as claimed by army.

Reports said that Naseer shall be buried around 2 PM in his local graveyard.
