SRINAGAR: Slain school teacher Deepak Chand’s widow has been given a government job.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted that he has haneded over a job letter to the slain teachjer’s widow, Aradhna Mehra.

Deepak was killed on October 8, when three smilitants barged into a higher secondary school in Eidgah area of Srinagar. They killed Deepak and the principal, Supinfer Kour. Deepak was served the education department in Kashmir after being appointed as part of special scheme for the Kashmiri Pandits.

Mehra was handed over the job letter at Raj Bhawan Jammu. Deepak and Mehra had a three year old daughter. His father had passed away earlier.

Under SRO 43, the government does conbsider a job for the next of the kin of the civilians who get killed in Jammu and Kashmir. They, however, have a choice to even take Rs 5 lakh in case they do not wish to serve the government.
