SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police announced on Saturday that they have arrested Aqib Ahmed Renzu, a Corporator of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), in connection with an alleged sexual harassment, outraging modesty, and online stalking case.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), police said that the victim had provided substantial technical evidence in the matter.
“Srinagar Police have arrested Aqib Ahmed Renzu, an SMC corporator from Nishat, Srinagar, on charges of sexual harassment, outraging modesty, and online stalking. The brave victim presented strong technical evidence in this case. FIR No 50/2023 U/S 354, 354A, 354D has been registered at RM Bagh Police station,” wrote Srinagar Police on X.
