SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has appealed to residents of the city to extend full cooperation during the upcoming Census 2027 exercise to ensure accurate and transparent data collection for planning and development purposes.
In a public message issued via its official social media handle, Principal Census Officer Urban Srinagar and SMC Commissioner Faz Lul Haseeb said public participation would be essential for the smooth and effective conduct of the census process.
The corporation urged citizens to cooperate with officials involved in the exercise so that reliable and updated data can be gathered to support administrative planning and development initiatives across the city.
“Appeal to all citizens of Srinagar City to extend full cooperation in the forthcoming Census 2027 exercise to ensure accurate, transparent and efficient data collection for better planning and development,” the message stated.
The appeal comes as preparations begin for Census 2027, a nationwide exercise expected to involve extensive collection of demographic and household data.
Officials said accurate census data is crucial for urban planning, infrastructure development, welfare schemes, and the allocation of public resources.
