The continuous snowfall near Jawahar tunnel has disrupted the traffic along the Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
A traffic spokesman told KNS that due to the continuous snowfall at Jawahar Tunnel, the highway has been closed as snow has blocked the road.
“Heavy vehicles going towards Kashmir are being stopped at Nowgaam while the passenger vehicles are being stopped at Banihal. Also, to avoid traffic congestions at Banihal light motor vehicles are being stopped at Shaan Palace Ramban and heavy vehicles are being stopped at Chanderkot.”
He said due to road block at Kheri Udhampur heavy vehicles are being stopped at Sangoor Battal Ballian Udhampur and Battal Manwal.
“At Jammu all vehicles except Udhampur bound vehicles are being stopped at Nagrota.
In Kashmir all Jawahar Tunnel bound vehicles are being stopped at Lavdora and Qazigund.”
