E-Planner in association with Callisto art & culture is going to organize ‘Snow Fiesta -2014’ at world famous ski-resort Gulmarag in February. In this festival the organizers are mulling to attract locals as well as tourists by attractive snow-sculptors.
The organizers of the festival told CNS that such type of festival is being organized first time in Kashmir Valley and they are hopeful that it will be a success.
“Like elsewhere in the world or countries like Japan, China and in west, the snow celebrations are being organized but despite huge scope and efforts to boost the winter season, the Snow celebration is unnoticed here,” one of the organizers said.
He said that the initiative not only draw the attention of people who are well familiar with snow festivals being held across the world but also encourage as an interesting element of visiting this part of the world.
“We are planning this event in unique form. Besides, the event is primarily based on the best interests of Artists and Art lovers, it will cover exclusively art forms based on Snow as a medium and theme starting from ‘Snow Sculptures’, ‘Snow Photography’, ‘paintings’ depicting shades of snow, ‘Snow Statues or Portraits’ of renowned Personalities of the state, and last but not least, the ‘Snow Men’ depicting the traditions. Beside the art forms, the traditional, semi classical and contemporary music activities will be also part of the event.”
‘E-Planner’ in association with ‘Callisto’ Art & Culture Group will serve as a way to encourage and promote study and research in this field of arts mentioned above and also cooperation among Artists and Art associations, development of such associations and to generate energy for further events.
